Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Graphic Designer Trainee for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will collaborate with senior designers on branding, digital assets, print collateral, and web design, building a strong portfolio while learning industry-standard tools.

You should be eager to learn, open to feedback, and able to work independently in a remote setting, with mentorship from experienced designers and opportunities to grow within the agency.

Qualifications

• Completed matriculation or equivalent qualification.
• A strong portfolio showcasing creative design work (academic projects acceptable).
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Good understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
• Excellent visual communication and conceptualization skills.
• Ability to receive and incorporate constructive criticism.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with web design concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior graphic designers in creating visual concepts for marketing materials.
• Develop designs for digital platforms, including social media graphics, web banners, and email newsletters.
• Create layouts for print materials such as brochures, flyers, and advertisements.
• Adapt existing designs for different media and formats.
• Incorporate feedback from senior designers and clients into revisions.
• Assist with image sourcing, manipulation, and editing.
• Learn and utilize industry-standard design software effectively.
• Contribute ideas during brainstorming and concept development sessions.
• Maintain brand consistency across all design outputs.
• Organize and manage design files and assets.
