Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Risk Analyst to join our remote team, focusing on our Rustenburg operations in the North West of South Africa. You will identify, assess and mitigate risks across insurance products and operations using advanced analytics and data modeling.

You will develop risk frameworks, run quantitative and qualitative analyses, and prepare reports for senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of risk analysis experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and techniques.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R, Excel).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk management frameworks and methodologies.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of insurance risks, including market, credit, operational, and underwriting risks.
• Build and maintain risk models to assess potential financial impacts and predict future risk exposures.
• Prepare comprehensive risk reports and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with various departments to embed risk management best practices throughout the organization.
• Stay abreast of emerging risks and regulatory changes impacting the insurance industry.
