Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer specializing in Process Automation for a remote-first role based out of Paarl. You will design and manage automated systems to improve manufacturing efficiency, with virtual collaboration across global sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in process automation, strong PLC, robotics, HMI and SCADA experience, and excellent remote communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on process automation.
• Proven experience with PLC programming, robotics, HMI development and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement automated systems for manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate virtually with internal teams and external vendors to specify and integrate automation equipment and software.
• Develop and execute testing plans for automated systems, troubleshoot issues and implement modifications.
• Create detailed documentation including specifications, procedures and maintenance guidelines.
• Stay updated on advancements in automation technology and identify opportunities for implementation.
