Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Freight Forwarder to manage international and domestic shipments from a home office. You will coordinate transportation, prepare documentation, and liaise with carriers, brokers, and customs authorities to ensure compliant movement of cargo.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and online tracking systems.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Familiarity with different modes of transport (air, sea, road, rail).

Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage international and domestic freight shipments for clients.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, and trucking companies to book space and manage transport.
• Liaise with customs brokers and authorities to ensure smooth customs clearance.
• Track shipments and provide clients with regular updates on their cargo's status.
• Resolve any issues that arise during transit, such as delays or damages.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade laws and regulations.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to provide competitive pricing to clients.
