Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Energy Trader to join the trading desk on a fully remote basis in South Africa. You will manage trades across electricity, natural gas, and related derivatives, develop strategies, and optimize P&L in volatile markets.

Ideal candidates hold a quantitative degree and at least 5 years of energy trading experience, with strong analytical and risk management skills to navigate energy markets and collaborate with risk and back-office teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct experience in energy commodity trading.
• Proven track record of successful trading and P&L generation in volatile markets.
