Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Pharmaceutical Research Scientist specializing in Drug Discovery. The role focuses on identifying drug targets, designing and validating compounds, and advancing leads through preclinical development.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related life science discipline.
• 3+ years of post-doctoral or industry drug discovery experience with successful project contributions.
• Experience with cellular assays, PCR, Western blot, ELISA, and protein biochemistry.
• Strong understanding of disease pathophysiology and target identification.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (GraphPad Prism, R) and relevant databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to identify and validate new drug targets.
• Utilize biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology techniques to assess compounds.
• Synthesize and characterize small molecules using medicinal chemistry principles.
• Conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate pharmacological properties.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and present findings at meetings.
• Collaborate with computational chemists, structural biologists, and pharmacologists.
• Contribute to research reports, patents, and publications.
• Maintain GLP-compliant notebooks and records; stay updated on literature.
