Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) to oversee the definition, setup and ingestion of external data streams for clinical trials. You will coordinate with data stakeholders, translate medical concepts into data mappings, and develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements, ensuring compliance with SDTM and GCP/ICH guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience working with external data sources (e.g., Safety Lab, PK, ECG) within a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Knowledge of SDTM and working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Plan external data stream setup activities to meet study start-up timelines.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to define data transfer and structure per data protection laws.
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting requirements.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs.
• Coordinate with external data providers to align tsDTA.
• Translate medical concepts into data mappings per data model.
• Perform UAT of test data transfers.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms into CDR and provide access for providers.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams and resolve transfer issues.
