Placements24, a forward-thinking civil engineering firm, is seeking a design specialist for urban infrastructure projects. The role focuses on conceptual and detailed design of roads, drainage, utilities, and public realm elements, using CAD and BIM tools in a remote-first setting.

You will collaborate with a dispersed team of engineers and planners, deliver hydraulic modeling, site analyses, and technical reports, while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability from your home

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with urban infrastructure focus.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA desirable.
• 7+ years in urban civil infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software.
• Experience with stormwater modeling (HEC-RAS, SWMM).
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design of civil infrastructure for urban development projects, including roads, sidewalks, drainage, and utility services.
• Develop concept designs, master plans, and detailed drawings using CAD and BIM software.
• Perform hydraulic modeling for stormwater management systems and design appropriate solutions.
• Coordinate with utility companies and other stakeholders to integrate services effectively.
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies for potential urban development sites.
• Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations, zoning ordinances, and sustainability goals.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members through virtual communication platforms.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on urban infrastructure or land development.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the design of urban civil infrastructure.
• Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or other relevant design software.
• Experience with stormwater modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM) is essential.
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles and land development processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage project tasks efficiently in a remote setting.
• Proven experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams virtually.
