About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and self-motivated Remote Aviation Data Analyst to join their globally distributed team. In this position, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing vast datasets related to flight operations, safety, and performance metrics. Your insights will drive strategic decision-making, identify areas for operational improvement, and enhance overall efficiency within the aviation sector. This role requires a proactive individual who excels at working independently, leveraging advanced analytical tools to uncover trends and patterns from complex information sources, all from the convenience of their home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and validate large datasets from various aviation sources (e.g., flight logs, maintenance records, sensor data).
• Develop and implement data models and algorithms to identify trends, anomalies, and key performance indicators.
• Create clear and concise data visualizations, reports, and dashboards for stakeholders at different levels.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize flight schedules, reduce operational costs, and improve safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define data requirements and analytical approaches.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in aviation data analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Aviation Management, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the aviation industry.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python (Pandas, NumX), R, SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex data findings effectively to non-technical audiences, working remotely from Mossel Bay or elsewhere.
