Qualifications

• Proven experience with CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN and standards like AUTOSAR and ISO 26262.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced Remote Automotive Systems Architect to define and guide the development of complex automotive electronic and software architectures. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our client's vehicle platforms, ensuring seamless integration of various subsystems, including powertrain, ADAS, infotainment, and connectivity. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere, collaborating with global engineering teams to design innovative, scalable, and robust automotive systems. You will be responsible for high-level technical decision-making, setting architectural standards, and ensuring the technical feasibility and coherence of the overall system design in the evolving automotive landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall automotive system architecture, including hardware, software, and communication interfaces.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering leads to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, standards, and tools for system development.
• Ensure the architecture supports key non-functional requirements such as safety, security, reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks and dependencies, ensuring alignment across different engineering domains.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in automotive systems engineering and architecture design.
• Deep understanding of automotive electronic components, embedded systems, and software development processes.
• Proven experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN) and standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and model-based design (MBD).
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
