Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is hiring an Automation Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role focused on delivering production systems on top of AI models, not model training.

You will work with engineering and delivery leadership to translate a documented automation roadmap into shipped workflows, including LangChain/LangGraph-based agents and API integrations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years building production software in Python or Node.js and strong API

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Own and ship our internal automation roadmap; builder role, not a researcher.
• Build production systems on top of AI models; not training models itself.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to turn roadmaps into working automation workflows.
• Create agentic workflows using LangChain or equivalent frameworks and integrate with APIs.
