Job summary

Perle is seeking a freelance transcriptionist fluent in Afrikaans to work remotely. You will transcribe 2-speaker Afrikaans audio, label Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 with timestamps, and deliver clean, accurate transcripts in sequential order.

Requirements include native or near-native Afrikaans, strong spelling and grammar, ability to work independently, reliable internet, and availability for at least 4 hours per day. Start date rolling onboarding.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Afrikaans (spoken and written).
• Strong written Afrikaans — accurate spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Ability to work independently and meet daily output targets.
• Access to a computer with a stable internet connection.
• Availability for at least 4 hours per day.
• Prior transcription experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe 2-speaker, channel-separated audio recordings in Afrikaans.
• Label each speaker turn as Speaker 1 or Speaker 2, matching the audio channel.
• Add timestamps at the start of each speaker turn (format: HH:MM:SS).
• Ensure transcripts are sequential with no unexplained gaps.
