A leading agricultural firm is seeking a Junior Management role in Centurion to build strong relationships with emerging farmers. The candidate will assist in regional budgeting and mentoring farmers in agronomy practices. Minimum 3 years of experience in crop farming and an Agricultural Diploma are required. This permanent position offers market-related salary and requires regular travel to support farmers.

The role serves as a vital link between farmers and internal / external stakeholders promoting agricultural development and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Agricultural Diploma (Agricultural Degree advantageous)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a crop farming environment
  • Experience in agronomy, agricultural finance and credit applications
Key Performance Areas
  • Budget and Strategy: Assist in drafting regional budgets and development strategies
  • Prepare individual farm budgets and credit applications
  • Monitor financial performance and take corrective actions
  • Relationship Building: Regularly visit and support emerging farmers
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-divisional collaboration
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders
Reporting
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on farm activities, training and crop progress
  • Maintain and update farmer databases
Training and Development
  • Mentor farmers in agronomy and cultivation practices
  • Organise and participate in training sessions and study groups
  • Promote continuous learning and self-development
