Function Nursing Facility Position Registered Nurse | Renal Qualified Introduction A vacancy exists for Renal Qualified Registered Nurses in our Renal Dialysis Unit at Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein, reporting to the Unit Manager, Thabo Booysen.

This unit is offering a full range of life-supporting treatments used in the management of renal failure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic renal duties as allocated by the Unit Manager
  • Assist the unit to meet the requirements of quality patient care
  • Exercise timely and accurate report writing
  • Accurate charging for the utilization of renal consumables
  • Assessment of patient's dry weight and dialysis prescription
  • Ensure all dialysis procedures are carried out using clean techniques and within Life Healthcare guidelines
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative, policies and procedures of the Hospital and Life Healthcare
  • Knowledge of renal water treatment systems (reverse osmosis)
  • Understand the importance of dialysis machine disinfection and water testing
  • Assist with patient education – renal dietary support, chronic medication and basic social support (liaise and arrange professional social support whenever necessary)
  • Knowledge and experience with both chronic and acute dialysis treatments (HD, CRRT, Plasmapheresis, Peritoneal dialysis)
  • Maintaining and managing an environment in which excellent patient care is rendered
Requirements
  • Applicants need to have a valid SANC registration
  • Post-registration renal qualification
  • Proven to have work in chronic and acute environment of at least 3 years
  • Be willing to fulfill a role in the unit according to the flexi-hour system and be able to work night and day duty
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players
  • Computer proficiency
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a continuously changing environment
