Job summary

Well Known Private Hospital Group in Johannesburg South is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care, participating in shift handovers, and ensuring compliance with health standards.

The successful candidate must be registered with SANC, hold an RN or equivalent NQF 7, have Matric, and possess Medical Unit experience plus compulsory BLS. Advanced computer literacy and flexibility in shifts are required.

Responsibilities

• Render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
• Direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients; assess, plan, execute and supervise care.
• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.
• Attend handover of report at shift commencement; recognize life-threatening situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care; promote patient health and wellbeing.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance; ensure stock is controlled and managed.
• Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or Equivalent NQF 7 qualification
2. Have a matric qualification
3. Relevant experience in Medical Unit
4. Compulsory BLS
5. Advanced Computer Literacy
6. Flexible in working hours/shifts
7. Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
8. The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies and will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs
9. Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
10. Contribute to the holistic care of patients
11. Attend handover of report at shift commencement
12. Recognize life-threatening situations
13. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
14. Promotion of patient’s health and wellbeing
15. Give a detailed handover to the ward's sister
16. Audit of health records to ensure compliance
17. Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately

Package & Remuneration
