A healthcare service provider is seeking a Registered Nurse (Dialysis) to deliver haemodialysis and manage chronic care for patients. The role of the Registered Nurse (Dialysis) is to deliver haemodialysis on a 2 : 1 patient to nurse ratio to patients with complex needs in a community context and contribute to the management of dialysis units under the direction of Site or Regional Coordinators.
Key responsibilities include holistic care and chronic disease management to support renal patients and their families.
This position supervises and supports other staff in accordance with the Scope of Practice – Framework for Nurses and Midwives.
Demonstrate a courteous and respectful manner and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate cultural awareness and knowledge of cultural safety and Indigenous community control.
Maintain confidentiality of information about clients, other staff members or community members.
Work to achieve standards of best practice and promote continuous quality improvement.
Demonstrate safe work practices and promote a safe work environment.
Provide optimal dialysis treatment and holistic care within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
Work effectively within a team with a focus on patient care at all times.
Develop and maintain positive relationships within the community, and engage with community strengthening activities.
Manage a diverse workload, using and maintaining assets and resources effectively.
Participate in quality and governance activities, reporting as required.
Act as a resource and mentor, encouraging and supporting all new staff.
Maintain clinical competency in haemodialysis and Basic Life Support.
Promote a safe work environment in accordance with legislative requirements, adheres to Work Health Safety guidelines, and reports all incidents and near misses.
Other duties as required within trained capability and classification.
