Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse- Trauma TrainedThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic and optimal quality nursing care to critically ill patients in order to maximize a positive outcome for the customer in line with Company & Hospital strategic objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensuring effective financial management byEnsuring accurate charging by managing trauma clocking timeEnsuring consignment stock, equipment and prosthesis is charged according to policyManaging stock by participating in regular stock taking and controlling of the consignment stock in accordance with the hospital (local) policyAffecting the functioning of trauma equipment and instrumentation byEnsuring the correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation by educating and supervising staff on the correct utilization of the equipmentProviding Quality patient care byObtaining the correct information pre-operatively and visiting the patient post-operativelyEnsuring that the patient is comfortable and assist the doctor during the surgical procedureEnsuring effective people management byProviding Trauma specific training and assessing the competence of staffAssist the Unit Manager to correctly monitor the normal and overtime hoursEnsure the trauma team works according to the scope of practiceGive feedback to the unit manager in order to assess optimal performanceEffective SHEQ management byEnsuring the use of personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirementsEnsuring the disposal of medical waste in order to effectively control infectionEffective relationships with internal / external stakeholdersAttend review and consultative form meetings to maintain healthy relationships with internal stakeholdersMaintain a healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager
