Job summary

A prominent health organization in Cape Town seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to provide clinical support and participate in community health initiatives. The role requires a nursing qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, excellent patient service skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Candidates should be bilingual in English and Afrikaans. This is a contract position for 12 months based in Athlone, with a focus on supporting community health programs.

Qualifications

• Qualified Registered nurse with proof of qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software and internet applications.
• Bilingual in English & Afrikaans; knowledge of another language is advantageous.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s license and own transport.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Clinical support to patients
• Screenings at Community Clinics, CANSA office / Mobile Clinic and Corporate Wellness
• Health Promotion Campaigns
• Home-Based Care Programme
• Marketing and Networking
• Support stakeholders and professional volunteers to improve services in the communities
• Support Stoma Clinic and walk-in clients

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Qualified Registered nurse with proof of qualification and paid‑up member of SANC
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role
• 2 – 3 traceable references on your application / resume
• Excellent patient service and professionalism
• High level time management, organising and administrative skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, internet‑based applications
• Exceptional written & verbal communication skills; bilingual in English & Afrikaans, another official language will be advantageous
• Resilience to work in a highly structured and pressurised environment
• Effective public presentations; able to facilitate group discussions and knowledge of grant and proposal writing
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and own transport
