A leading global logistics company is seeking a Sales Manager in Johannesburg to manage the regional sales team and drive sales growth. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in international freight forwarding, with strong networking and customer relationship management skills. DP World City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. To support the Commercial Executive to manage the regional sales team to achieve the national objectives of increasing sales growth to ensure profitable revenue growth.
Build a regional sales pipeline and deliver an aggressive regional sales target with clients operating within the international freight forwarding market. Target and acquire new business profit in personal sales capacity. Manage Business Development Managers regionally. Identify and on‑board experienced business development managers. Maintain a talent pipeline of business development managers. Ensure the headcount to sales target ratio is relatively maintained. Regional responsibility for sales pipeline reporting and accuracy. Support the Sales and Marketing Executive in all national sales activities. Provide support to sales and marketing campaigns as required, including internal marketing campaigns, presentations, client proposals and client engagements. Manage the consolidation, quality control and submission of monthly sales reports. Manage and help coordinate DP World group, customer and sales events. Coordinate Trade Lane related client visits with DP World offices, including setting up appointments with national field sales teams, trade lane team members and driving and delivering on trade lane related sales pipelines. Execute a sales strategy informed by an extensive analysis of relevant business and market intelligence. Provide commercial input related to service offering and risks for tenders and proposals. Identify, form and nurture strategic partnerships with clients that enable or improve service offerings. Facilitate the sales process for applicable clients. Align and integrate internal & external client requirements as well as market trends and other business intelligence. Facilitate the design and implementation of supply chain solutions that meet client requirements. Align people a€TMs performance goals to support the achievement of the National Sales strategy. Fill approved positions in compliance with the Recruitment practice. Manage talent and succession.
Matric. Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Marketing or Logistics. Minimum 10 plus years’ experience in International Freight Forwarding with at least 3-5 years in a position of Sales Manager leading a sales team regionally and / or nationally. A proven track record of achieving sales growth targets within a freight forwarding environment. Strong networker and customer relationship management experience. Excellent written and verbal communication (including business presentations, reporting, project overviews and feedback, and public speaking). Valid’s’ driver’s License and own vehicle.
