Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Regional Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement across its northern region, based in Polokwane. You will develop and execute purchasing strategies, lead a procurement team, and drive cost savings while ensuring supply continuity for Limpopo.

The role requires a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and a proven ability to manage complex procurement portfolios in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 8+ years of procurement experience, including ≥4 years in a managerial role.
• Proven success in strategic sourcing, cost reduction and supplier management.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Expertise with procurement software, ERP systems and advanced negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional purchasing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Lead negotiations with key suppliers for major contracts and framework agreements.
• Manage and mentor the regional purchasing team, with clear performance goals.
• Oversee inventory management and demand planning to minimize disruptions.
• Conduct market research and supplier audits to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with national leadership and other regions to align best practices.
