Overview
A Regional HR Manager vacancy exists in the Pretoria region where our transport client is based and will be reporting to the Personnel Services Executive. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill this role.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent academic qualification.
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management (additional legal and/or financial qualification will be an added advantage). Post degree qualification will be an added advantage.
- Valid Code 08 (EB) drivers’ license.
- Proficient in MS Office (Advanced level).
- Knowledge of computerised systems such as HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance systems will be required.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and Main Agreements.
Job Outputs / Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for the HR functions of the North region.
- Ensure all deadlines are met at set standards in the execution of duties.
- Compile HR department budget according to HR standards and BU’s manpower budget; provide detailed analysis of monthly variances.
- Support line in the execution of their duties to achieve targets set for the BU’s, including strategy and planning (as part of BU Management team).
- Develop and maintain processes, procedures and policies in the framework of Personnel Services; ensure compliance and provide training.
- Recruitment, selection and placement of staff in coordination with the recruitment department and in line with Employment Equity plan.
- Coordinate training and development of staff; maintain personnel records and administer conditions and benefits related to staff in a diversified group governed by different Bargaining Councils.
- Assist in developing and maintaining HR policies and internal procedures & processes.
- Induct new employees and ensure legal compliance on all aspects of the personnel function with special attention to POPIA.
- Participate in strategy setting and HR focused projects; undertake ad hoc projects as required.
- Implement, manage and monitor the following: maintenance of personnel records and benefits; control of input documentation for new engagements and staff movement; processing of administrative data for payroll; management of bonuses, leave provisions, productivity measures and retrenchment provisions; ensure deadlines and data accuracy; develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage sub-ordinates and ensure effective utilisation of staffing in the department.

Knowledge
- Knowledge of the bus passenger industry; Wage Determination 452, BCEA, LRA and other legislation; Human Resources and Payroll Administration & Information Systems; sound knowledge of HR management.
