Duties
- Oversee and manage all HR functions across the North Region
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment legislation
- Support business units in achieving operational and strategic HR targets
- Compile and manage the HR departmental budget, including variance reporting
- Participate in strategic planning and operations budget preparation as part of the regional management team
- Develop and implement short- and medium-term HR plans aligned with organisational goals
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and placement in coordination with the recruitment department and Employment Equity plan
- Coordinate training and development initiatives for all staff
- Manage and maintain accurate personnel records, ensuring legal and data protection compliance (including POPIA)
- Administer employee benefits, bonuses, and leave provisions in accordance with company policies and bargaining council agreements
- Lead the induction and onboarding process for new employees
- Develop and implement HR communication strategies and employee engagement initiatives
- Oversee performance management, succession planning, and talent retention
- Participate in HR-focused projects and ad hoc assignments
- Maintain sound communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of HR management and payroll systems
- Knowledge of Wage Determination 452, BCEA, LRA, and related legislation
- Strong understanding of human resource administration and data management
- Knowledge of the bus passenger or transport industry (advantageous)

Requirements
