Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities
About the Role

As our Regional HRBP you will be responsible for supporting and developing our teams in Cape Town Durban and across Gauteng. Your mission will be to ensure our stores are fully equipped with the talent and support they need while fostering a positive dynamic and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Drive HR strategy policies and procedures in alignment with Zara’s global standards to ensure effective workforce management across all stores in South Africa.
  • Culture and Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and build a positive inclusive workplace culture that reflects Zara’s core values of innovation collaboration and respect.
  • Talent Management: Oversee recruitment training and development programs to attract retain and grow top talent. Foster a culture of learning and career progression within the company.
  • Performance Management: Drive a high-performance culture through the implementation of and managing the performance review processes supporting store managers with coaching and feedback to improve individual and team performance.
  • Travel & Store Support: Regularly visit stores in Cape Town Durban and Gauteng to provide hands‑on support conduct employee relations training and ensure that HR practices are aligned with both local and corporate standards.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the go‑to expert on labour relations ensuring compliance with local labour laws and providing support for all employee‑related matters.
  • CCMA Expertise: With a minimum of 3-5 years experience handle CCMA cases from preparation to resolution ensuring that all processes are handled professionally and in accordance with South African labour legislation.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure that all HR policies are up to date and compliant with South African labour laws handling any updates or changes as needed.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • NQF Level 7 Tertiary Qualification / Degree in HR Psychology Business Management or similar.
  • 5 years of experience in HR management preferably in retail or a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
  • 3-5 years of CCMA experience essential with a proven track record in handling labour disputes and maintaining compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to different store locations (Cape Town Durban and Gauteng).
  • A people‑first mindset with a passion for developing teams and fostering a positive work culture.
