Placements24 is seeking an experienced Regional Distribution Driver with a Code 14 license to operate from our Randburg hub. You will be responsible for delivering goods across Gauteng, maintaining vehicle safety, and ensuring timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in regional distribution, PDP, strong route planning, road safety knowledge, and the ability to load and unload cargo, with a professional demeanor and good time management.

Qualifications

• Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PDP.
• Minimum 5 years in regional distribution or commercial driving.
• Proven knowledge of Johannesburg and Gauteng road network.
• Ability to perform physical loading/unloading tasks.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of traffic laws and safe driving practices for large vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Operate large Code 14 vehicles for regional distribution.
• Plan and execute daily routes across Gauteng for timely deliveries.
• Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure goods are loaded, secured, and unloaded safely.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage, and vehicle condition.
• Communicate delivery status with dispatch, warehouse staff and customers.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and diligent Regional Distribution Driver with a Code 14 license to operate from their hub in Randburg . This role is crucial for the efficient distribution of goods to various retail outlets and business clients across the Gauteng region. You will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle safety, and upholding the company's commitment to reliable logistics services. The ideal candidate possesses strong route planning skills, a professional demeanor, and a deep understanding of road safety regulations relevant to commercial transport.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate large commercial vehicles (Code 14 ) for regional distribution of products.
• Plan and execute daily routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries to various destinations within Gauteng .
• Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and its cargo.
• Ensure goods are loaded, secured, and unloaded safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle condition.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 driver's license and an up-to-date Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in regional distribution or commercial driving.
• Proven knowledge of the road network in and around Johannesburg and Gauteng .
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
