Job description

Ideal Candidate Responsibilities

• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on the ammonia refrigeration plants and equipment (Mechanical & Electrical).
• Attend to breakdowns on plant and equipment.
• Train artisans and operators to run an efficient refrigeration plant.
• Ensure plants and refrigeration equipment are properly and safely maintained.
• Ensure air compressors are properly and safely maintained.
• Issue and close out work permits.
• Identify critical spares requirements.
• Work closely with major suppliers and manage SLAs.
• Site water chlorination maintenance.
• Compliance with the requirements of the OHSACT.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Electrician/Fitter/Millwright with 10 years working experience in poultry abattoir.
• 5 years supervision experience in planned routine and preventative maintenance (Foreman level).
• Experience in the safe operation of ammonia plants (CAT B8 registered).
• Experience in the Food Processing Industry would be an added advantage.
• Computer literate and has good communication skills.
• Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
• Able to work overtime, weekends and public holidays if necessary.
