WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Behind every great mission-driven organisation is a People Team that makes sure its people thrive. At Second Nature, we believe that impact begins with our own team - and as our Recruitment & HR Associate, you will be at the centre of it all.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Recruitment & HR Associate, you will be at the heart of supporting our global, fast-moving team. No two days are the same - you might be coordinating a recruitment drive for a field role one day, helping design a new HR policy the next, or supporting a culture-building initiative across multiple teams.

You will:

  • Be the go-to teammate for people-related support, from onboarding and day-to-day queries to guiding employees through their growth journey.
  • Assist in recruiting for a variety of global roles, taking responsibility for writing and posting job ads, screening CVs, doing first interviews, reference checking, contracting and ensuring the entire candidate experience is exceptional.
  • Support the Head of HR Operations with traditional HR administrative duties where necessary (including tasks relating to compliance, performance management, industrial relations, administration, etc.).
  • Keep our People systems (like BambooHR) accurate, organised, and running seamlessly.
  • Support the People Team on projects, events, and initiatives that keep our culture thriving.
  • Jump into ad-hoc and new challenges with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, helping the team navigate the variety and pace of our work.

Here, you’ll experience a broad scope of responsibilities, project-based work, and exponential personal and professional growth - all while supporting colleagues around the world.

WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU BRING
  • You have a proactive and curious mindset, are resourceful and take initiative
  • You have 2-3 years of experience in a support, admin, or coordination role, preferably in HR or recruitment.
  • You have excellent time management skills and can effectively prioritise and organise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • You are outstanding with people, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can build rapport with a diverse range of people.
  • You are naturally diplomatic and able to navigate nuanced, people-related situations with discretion and a high level of confidentiality.
  • You embody Second Nature’s core values, which include working with discretion, open-mindedness, equality, and confidentiality.
  • You have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a service-focused, proactive problem‑solving approach.
  • You are comfortable with G-Suite and are able to quickly learn new systems.
  • A tertiary qualification is advantageous.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
  • A monthly salary of R18 0000 - R20 000 (depending on experience)
  • Flexible working set-up: remote or hybrid from Cape Town
  • Direct mentorship from industry leaders
  • A collaborative, fast-paced, and supportive culture
  • A career, not just a job
MEET YOUR FUTURE TEAM
