Purpose Of The Job
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Recruiter / HR Generalist to join their established Automotive Gearbox Company in Johannesburg.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on HR professional with strong recruitment experience across all job levels, coupled with sound generalist HR knowledge.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s human resource needs, from talent acquisition and onboarding to employee relations and HR administration.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes for all levels (technical, administrative, and management roles)
- Develop and post job advertisements, screen CVs, conduct interviews, and manage shortlisting
- Coordinate skills assessments, background checks, and reference verifications
- Maintain a strong talent pipeline for key technical positions
- Ensure all recruitment practices are aligned with company policies and labour legislation
Human Resources Generalist Duties
- Support the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes in collaboration with management
- Manage onboarding, induction, and exit processes
- Maintain and update employee records, HR databases, and personnel files
- Assist with training coordination and performance management processes
- Provide guidance and support to management on HR best practices and labour legislation
- Assist with payroll input and attendance management as requiredContribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the motor industry in a recruiter / hr role (preferred and advantageous)
- Diploma in Human Resources Management (essential)
- Proven experience in recruitment across all levels
- Solid understanding of HR practices, labour laws, and disciplinary procedures
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Computer literate (MS Office, HR systems, and online recruitment platforms)
