A leading food services company in South Africa is seeking a competent Receptionist based in Cape Town. This role involves welcoming visitors, directing calls, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 / Matric qualification, preferably with an office administration background, and at least two years of similar experience. We currently have a vacancy for the position of Receptionist, based in Cape Town.
Overall purpose of the job: Welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries, directs calls & visitors by to the relevant department.

Main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Answer telephone, screen, and direct calls
  • Take and relay messages
  • Provide information to callers
  • Greet persons entering organisation
  • Direct persons to correct destination
  • Deal with queries from the public and customers
  • Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organisation
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support
  • Prepare correspondence and documents
  • Receive and sort mail and deliveries
  • Monitor and maintain office equipment
  • Control inventory relevant to reception area
  • Ensure the tidiness of the reception area
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • Grade 12 /Matric – essential
  • Qualification in office administration or similar – highly preferred
  • Previous experience of at least two years in a similar position
  • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Data capture accuracy & attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage customer’s expectations
  • Customer focused - ability to excel in the provision of service
  • Energetic/shows initiative and have ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to consistently deliver quality service even when under pressure
  • Time management skills and keen sense of attention to detail
  • PC literate (Excel, Word, e-mail. SAP literate a distinct advantage)
