Job summary

A leading logistics firm in Midrand is seeking a Warehouse Operative to process stock efficiently and ensure quality control. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting stock, handling discrepancies, and preparing reports. Minimum requirements include a Matric/Grade 12 and experience in a warehouse environment. Ideal candidates will have good data capturing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Job description

Overall purpose of the job : To ensure all stock received at Midrand Warehouse are timeously processed and receiving locations are accurately maintained.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • To receive invoices and process the GRVs accordingly against the purchase order
  • Ensure purchase order was raised against the correct supplier account
  • Ensure correctness of stock to invoices and stock received before processing transactions
  • Report and correct discrepancies before completing on the system
  • Consolidate supplier documentation and ensure completeness before handover to reconciliation
  • Ensure purchase order was raised against the correct supplier account
  • Ensure stock received is receipted and put away within 24 hours of delivery
  • Investigate and resolve receiving queries
  • Investigate and resolve put away tasks older than 24hours
  • Inspect returned goods for faults or quality defects and identify corrective action of goods returned.
  • Good stock to follow the relevant receiving process.
  • Prompt communication to the relevant stakeholders to ensure timeous resolution and correction of queries picked up
  • Receive and handover stock within acceptable time frames
  • To apply quality control on all products received at the warehouse by ensuring stock received is of acceptable quality to be supplied to internal and external customers
  • Ensure that stock is handover to the correct persons in the correct areas of the business
  • To ensure compliance in terms of Operating standards and other procedures in the Warehouse.
  • To always safeguard the assets of the company
  • To be able to do the following :
  • Prepare and submit daily / weekly and monthly reports
  • Identify risks and react proactively.
  • Control all documentation for goods received and ensure visibility of such documentation to the relevant stakeholders
  • To apply housekeeping rules.
  • To ensure and maintain health and safety procedures.
  • Keep track and record of nonstock orders and deliveries to warehouse.
Minimum qualifications and experience
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Experience in a warehouse environment beneficial.
