A leading machinery manufacturer is seeking a SHEQ Officer in Johannesburg to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety legislation. Responsibilities

Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment that complies with current health and safety legislation for all Barloworld Equipment employees.

Ensure all Barloworld Equipment employees in area of responsibility fully understand the requirements of existing health and safety legislation.

Investigate and report on all work-related incidents / accidents including vehicle accidents.

Audit relevant Barloworld Equipment sections and prepare for SHEQ assurance, ISO.

Maintain compliance with BWE standards for area of responsibility.

Conduct regular site inspection and internal audits against BWE standards and relevant legislation.

Cura reporting and effective action management

Recommend corrective actions for non-conformances identified during internal audits / inspections and verify implementation.

Attend site SHEQ-related meetings.

Ensure contractor compliance in your respective areas.

Do general administration functions and ensure record keeping is up to standard.

Assist in HIRA, SOP, PTO, etc. development.

Minimum Required Qualification

Grade 12 with a technical background.

National Diploma in SHEQ Management or equivalent will be an advantage.

SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1, COMSOC 2 Certification or equivalent certification.

Computer literate (Sound knowledge of MS office).

Driver's License – Code B.

Minimum Required Experience

At least 2 years' experience in health and safety management.

Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and occupational health and safety requirements.
