The Albany Museum invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.

Main Objectives

To provide outreach on Makhanda’s Devonian palaeontological heritage to learners, general visitors, and tourists.

The Requirements

Grade 12 with Science plus approximately 2 years of relevant experience. Background study in Palaeontology (including, for example, successful completion of reputable online palaeontology courses) is encouraged.

  • Valid South African driver's license.
  • Experience working within a palaeontology lab.
  • Experience working within a Devonian palaeontology lab.
  • Experience with outreach on Devonian palaeontology, including teaching school groups and guided gallery tours.

Fluency in isiXhosa and English.

Remuneration Per Annum (Grade 07)

Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R300,000.00 per annum.

This post is advertised as a permanent post, but the University may opt to appoint on a fixed‑term contract of not less than three years.
