Job summary

Mertech Marine (Pty) Ltd in Gqeberha is seeking a Raw Material Buyer to source and purchase E-Waste and related materials for the Commercial department. The role suits someone with strong people skills and a buying mindset, complemented by solid administrative capabilities.

You will identify suppliers, assess material value, obtain approvals when required, and maintain positive supplier relationships while building an understanding of the business model to support purposeful purchasing decisions.

Qualifications

• Matric with good communication and numeracy.
• Sales & Buying experience advantageous.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft 365.

An exciting opportunity exists within the Commercial department for a Raw Material Buyer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of E-Waste and related materials. This position is ideally suited to someone with great people skills, an affinity for sales and buying, as well as strong administrative skills

Minimum requirements and Competencies:

• Matric
• Sales & Buying experience will be advantageous
• Further qualifications are not required, but will be beneficial
• Computer literate (Microsoft 365).
• Excellent planning and organising skills.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
• Able to travel out of town, as required.
• Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
• Basic calculation skills, with the aim of making purchasing /costing decisions.
