Job summary

RadiographerLife Diagnostic Imaging Gauteng - Robinson Radiology

A vacancy exists for a Radiographer, reporting to the Head Radiographer. The successful candidate will provide a high‑quality service to both inpatients and outpatients, including general radiography, theatre imaging, mammography and CT. Working as part of the Radiography Department and multi‑disciplinary teams, the role delivers professional radiography services in assigned areas.

Critical Outputs
  • Perform radiological procedures according to protocols.
  • Maintain required standards of radiography whilst applying ALARA and radiation protection principles.
  • Prepare patients for radiological examinations or procedures.
  • Prepare the room and equipment required before commencing radiology procedures.
  • Produce accurate radiographic images in the various modalities for which the individual is qualified.
  • Work in all areas of radiology as required, including shift work as per roster and overtime when required.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and briefings.
  • Support and help with training of students, staff and each other.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of health and safety and report all deviations to management.
  • Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures where necessary.
  • Report any equipment defects or problems directly to the Line Manager or the dedicated QA personnel.
  • Keep up to date with current techniques and developments in radiographic and imaging procedures and take part in in‑service training as required.
  • Maintain CPD compliance.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and non‑radiographic staff, both in the radiology department and outside.
  • Other duties that may be required from time to time.
Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Degree/Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Be registered with HPCSA
  • Have at least 1 year’s general diagnostic radiography experience (including community service)
  • Have at least CT experience
  • Mammography, MRI and theatre experience will be an advantage
  • Ability to work after hours, weekend work and night shifts
  • Own transport or a valid driver’s license is essential
