Job summary

A regulatory communications authority in South Africa is seeking a Radio Communications Supervisor to oversee day-to-day activities related to radio communications spectrum licensing. Candidates should have a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience in telecommunications and administration. Strong computer literacy and leadership skills are advantageous. The position is permanent, located in Gauteng.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years' working experience in telecommunications / radio communications environment.
  • 2 years working experience in administration within a telecommunications environment.
  • Experience in supervising a team is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities for efficient radio communications processes.
  • Monitor and liaise with Finance Division regarding payment statuses.
  • Manage the repository of radio frequency spectrum licenses.

POSITION STATUS : Permanent

Purpose of the job

Tosupervise and coordinate day-to-day activities relating to the administrationtasks in support of efficient radio communications spectrum licensing processes.

Key Outputs
  • Liaising with internal / external stakeholders
  • Monitoring and liaising with Finance Division with respect to the status of allocation of payments on Automated Spectrum Management System for applications processed by Radio Frequency Spectrum Officers
  • Managing repository of radio frequency spectrum licenses
  • Maintaining accuracy of radiocommunications statistics
  • Distributing and monitoring the processing of radio communications frequency spectrum license applications
  • Monitoring the workflow on Automatic Spectrum Management System for Radio Frequency Spectrum Officers
  • Providing support to spectrum licensing Projects or Committees of Council or such other Committees as required from time to time
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Electrical Engineering (Light current)
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Business Administration / Business Management (advantage)
  • 3‑4 years' working experience in telecommunications / radio communications environment
  • 2 years working experience in administration within a telecommunications environment
  • Experience in supervising a team (advantage)
  • Computer Literacy (Advanced MS Word, Advanced Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook)
