Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a Lead Quantum Computing Engineer to spearhead quantum initiatives. You will lead a team of researchers and engineers, setting the technical direction and ensuring on-time delivery of quantum computing projects.

You will drive algorithm development, collaborate with stakeholders, and define roadmaps while advancing IP through publications and patents. A strong background in quantum information science and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Quantum Information Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in developing and implementing quantum algorithms (e.g., Shor's, Grover's, QAOA).
• Proficiency in quantum programming languages or frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane).
• Strong understanding of quantum mechanics, quantum gates, and quantum error correction.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and managing complex projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
• Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with classical algorithm design and analysis.
• A proactive approach to learning and adapting to a rapidly evolving field in Cape Town.
