Qualifications

Quality Storeman / Administrator required in Johannesburg.

Our established Hydraulics and Engineering company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to manage our operational stock control, asset administration, and safety documentation.

This dual role is critical to maintaining high efficiency and ensuring that all workshop and field operations are supported with precision.

Salary: R18,000 – R25,000 per month (depending on experience and qualifications).

Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Inventory and Stock Control (Storeman)
    • Stock Management: Maintain optimal stock levels of all workshop consumables, including specialized hydraulic components and general supplies.
    • Ordering & Procurement: Initiate and process purchase orders for consumables on a timely basis to prevent stock shortages.
    • Accuracy and Dispatch: Ensure meticulous and compliant booking of stock (in and out) according to established rules and regulations, maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy.
    • Record Keeping: Implement and maintain a reliable system for tracking all stock movements, receipts, and inventory counts.
  2. Fleet and Asset Administration (Administrator)
    • Vehicle Management: Maintain comprehensive records for the company fleet, tracking service history, condition reports, and required maintenance.
    • Logistics Coordination: Manage the booking in and out of vehicles to drivers, ensuring records of usage are accurately documented.
    • Fuel & Usage Monitoring: Track and audit fuel consumption and usage to identify discrepancies and manage operational costs.
    • Spot Checks: Conduct periodic physical checks of vehicles to ensure they meet required operational standards.
  3. Safety and Equipment Compliance (Admin)
    • PPE Management: Control and maintain records for all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory.
    • Issuing & Tracking: Issue PPE to personnel, ensuring correct allocation and documentation of all safety gear.
    • Compliance: Assist in maintaining general administrative records related to operational health and safety standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: Proven professional experience in a Storeman, Stock Controller, or Administrative role within an engineering, manufacturing, or similar technical environment.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with industrial consumables and components (experience with hydraulics or engineering parts is a distinct advantage).
  • Administration: Strong proficiency in record-keeping, data entry, and using relevant computer systems (e.g., inventory software, Microsoft Excel).
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, a methodical approach to inventory, and the ability to manage multiple administrative duties simultaneously.
  • Location: Candidates based in or familiar with the East Rand area are preferred.
