Job summary

A leading food processing company in Mpumalanga, Nelspruit is seeking a Quality Monitor to evaluate suppliers and ensure food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will hold a National Diploma in Food Technology and have 1-3 years of FMCG experience. Responsibilities include conducting audits and investigating customer complaints to maintain product integrity. Competitive compensation is offered for this full-time position.

Minimum Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate suppliers and report supplier deviations.
  • Provide food safety and quality training to staff.
  • Schedule and conduct internal audits.
  • Investigate customer complaints.
  • Develop and maintain a traceability and recall system.
  • Pest management.
  • Monitor quality of water used in the factory.
  • Maintain hygiene standard inside the factory.
  • Ensure that microbiological and chemical tests are conducted as per schedule and investigate deviations.
  • Update and make changes on the product specifications.
  • Conduct GMP inspections and PRP management.
  • Report to QAT on out of specification issues regarding food safety.
  • Manage all aspects of food safety within the processing plant and all related processes.
  • Take necessary corrective actions on any deviations regarding food safety.
  • Promote a strong QFS culture by facilitating toolbox talks and actively participating in Gemba walks.
  • Actively use SHERQX system for all live modules and ensure data accuracy on the SHEQX system.
  • Conduct routine quality checks during production e.g. packaging integrity, label accuracy, final product checks e.t.c.
  • Verify that raw materials and ingredients are used according to specifications.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions for quality and food safety issues.
  • Conduct production process checks to ensure compliance to the parameters.
  • Completes all QC/QA checks sheets, records, and inspections reports accurately and on time.
  • Support product quality evaluations and shelf‑life checks when required.
