Job summary
A manufacturing company in the transport sector in Johannesburg seeks a Quality Control Inspector to ensure that all welding activities are performed according to industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a Matric certification, excellent communication skills, and experience in the trailer/tanker/truck industry is preferred. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, documenting findings, and maintaining quality control documentation.
Qualifications
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawing requirements.
- Previous experience in trailer/tanker/truck industry is an advantage.
- Understanding of Welding Procedure Specifications and code compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all welding activities are conducted according to approved procedures.
- Performing visual and other inspections as required.
- Finding and recording any welding defects or non-conformances.
- Keeping accurate records of inspection data, test results and quality control documents.
- Submitting reports to QC Manager, documenting inspection findings and corrective actions.
- Developing and maintaining quality control documentation.
