Job summary

Network Finance in South Africa is seeking a QA Engineer to review and validate completed development tickets against requirements, and to design, maintain, and expand automated tests using Playwright across critical system areas.

You will extend test coverage for regression, smoke, functional, and release testing, perform manual and exploratory testing where automation is not feasible, and collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to clarify expected behavior.

Qualifications

• Intermediate-level experience in software testing, QA, or quality engineering.
• Strong understanding of standard testing processes, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Practical experience with Playwright or similar automated browser testing tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and validate completed development tickets against agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Investigate open tickets and reported issues by reproducing problems, identifying recurring patterns, and providing actionable feedback to developers.
• Design, maintain, and enhance automated test suites using Playwright across critical system areas.
• Expand Playwright test coverage to support regression, smoke, functional, and release testing.
• Conduct manual and exploratory testing where automation is not feasible.
• Contribute to defining and improving QA standards, processes, test cases, and documentation.
• Establish consistent testing practices across teams, ensuring alignment in regression, smoke, functional, and release testing.
• Define practical guidelines for writing, structuring, maintaining, reviewing, and applying Playwright tests during release cycles.
• Leverage Playwright with AI-assisted tools to streamline workflows, automate repetitive QA tasks, and accelerate defect investigation.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and business stakeholders to clarify expected system behavior.
• Engage with clients and users when needed to gather details on reported issues and confirm expected outcomes.
• Document defects thoroughly in Azure DevOps, including reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, screenshots, and supporting evidence.
• Provide developers with clear, constructive feedback during ticket testing and defect resolution.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
