Quality Controller - Paarl

Key Duties and Responsibilities :

Policies and Procedures -

Assist in developing, implement, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Assist in maintain / Updating Documentation.

Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise management on necessary adjustments to processes and practices.

Audits / Inspections –

Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Monitor and enforce compliance with ISO standards across all departments.

Prepare and maintain compliance and quality-related documentation, including audit reports and incident records.

Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise management on necessary adjustments to processes and practices.

Assist with the investigation of non-compliance incidents and implement corrective actions.

Oversee safety protocols, including hygiene practices, production standards, and quality assurance processes.

Developing a workflow for product inspection.

Inspecting production machinery and employees to make sure the production process runs smoothly.

Involved with CAR investigations.

Assist in the preparation for external Audits and Internal Audits.

Testing -

Preparation of samples for external testing.

Conduct product testing, documenting findings to ensure standards / specifications are met.

Checking that raw materials or components involved in the production process are of suitable quality.

Involved in trial work and testing of trial samples

Collecting and compiling statistical quality data.

Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.

Investigating causes of defects that occur during the testing phase.

Reporting discovered defects to all relevant departments for correction.

Work closely with the development team to improve existing products.

Inspecting production machinery and employees to make sure the production process runs smoothly.

Prepare quality reports and compliance paperwork.

Training -

Assessing whether employees need training to prevent mistakes during production.

Train staff on compliance and quality control-related matters, including safety practices and regulatory updates.

Prepares reports for management to help track their team’s progress.

Administration -

Prepares reports to senior level management.

Assist in maintaining of proper filling system.

General Administration.

Assisting with Customer feedback analysis / questionnaires

Department checks e.g. housekeeping / maintenance issues

Perform on the line checks (products + job cards).

Oversee safety protocols, including hygiene practices, production standards, and quality assurance processes.

Other Duties -

Preparation of samples for the sales team to hand over to potential clients.

Any other tasks assigned by his or her supervisor.
