Job description

Reporting to the Design and Technical Manager, the Quality Inspector will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of products during the manufacturing process.

Responsible for inspecting, testing and evaluating materials, components, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure Syrinx system compliance to quality.
  • Address all quality issues around WM flow, quotes, drawings, works orders (WO), bills of materials (BOM), stores/issue, factory/manufacture/rental unit preparation/conversion, transport and siting.
  • Maintain quality at branches – rental yards, minimum rental stock rentals ready, inventory checks against rental stock reports.
  • Inspection and testing.
  • Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues or deviations from established procedures.
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials, components or products, and communicate findings to appropriate personnel for corrective action.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Documentation and reporting.
  • Training and compliance.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Grade 12 education.
  • Experience with SAGE, Pastel, SAP or Accpac is advantageous.
  • HIRA and root cause analysis experience; ISO experience and implementation certificate as well as internal auditor training.
  • 5 years experience in repairs and maintenance, preferably of modular building and experience in quality control.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven experience as quality inspector or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify deviations or abnormalities in product quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
