Requirements :
  • Diploma or degree : Food Tech / Biotech / Food & Nutrition / Analytical Chemistry
  • 1-2 years relevant experience

Job Duties :
  • Daily routine and ad-hoc analysis and testing of raw materials, oil components and finished products as per laid out work instruction, job requirements and / or supervisor's instructions.
  • Report all non-conformance as required.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions as needed to support testing procedures and efficiency improvements and document action plans and solution implementation.
  • Complete production line checks and inspections as per work instruction.
  • Ensure samples are prepared for evaluation and routine testing.
  • Perform shift tests for production.
  • Record analysis and results of all testing in the relevant maintenance management system and / or Lab Management System.
  • Keep relevant statistical records and lab preparations.
  • Maintain lab and lab equipment in good condition (servicing, calibration, etc.).
  • Check and ensure that product, equipment and stockpiles (on / off site) are compliant to standards.
  • Communicate findings to management in the required format.
  • Raise NCRs and document as per standards in the relevant corrective action systems.
  • Support QA, food safety and quality audits.
  • Conduct pre-start checks on production equipment condition (servicing, calibration, etc.) and document feedback.
  • Conduct inspections on all sections to ensure compliance to standards in the area of GMP, CCP, and all housekeeping.
  • Conduct support sampling and online QC as required (add documentation, checks, etc.)
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping of raw and packaging ingredients received, in-process and finished product.
  • Maintain identification of raw and packaging ingredients received, in-process and finished product.
  • Maintain traceability of oil and food ingredients.
  • Complete weekly microbiological swabbing as per schedule.
  • Adhere to manufacturing practices standards.
  • Attend to breakdowns as and when required.
  • Take and retain lab samples and oil samples.
  • Responsible for on-time and accurate analysis according to pre-defined testing standards and lead time as per work instruction and job cards and ensuring the integrity of results.
  • Escalate any issues that may arise to the supervisor and / or Production Manager.
  • Attend daily production meetings and elevate information as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Must be able to work shifts, overtime, standby, callouts, and during shutdowns.
  • Attend monthly, quarterly, and yearly stock counts.
  • Adhere to food safety, health and safety policies.
  • Uphold Africa SunOil Group Values and policies.
  • Undertake any other work-related tasks or duties in line with this requirement or any other reasonable and lawful instruction given to you by management and / or any other person in authority.
