Job Description
To ensure the Quality and OI administration for the SGS KATHU LABORATORY is well instituted and maintained.
- Take full control of the SGS document control system to align with SGS high-level system requirements and ISO17025 for SGS Kathu (UMK).
- Register, format, distribute, and control the Geochem system document process.
- Implement and maintain a graphical statistics system for proficiency testing within the current PT Schemes.
- Administer the improvement system registers and lists, ensuring overdue action items are promptly addressed with the Laboratory Manager.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive minutes are taken at monthly quality meetings, management review meetings, etc.
- Monitor training programs and ensure scheduled training dates are adhered to.
- Operate in accordance with the highest standards of ethics as indicated in SGS Integrity Programs.
- Assist with continuous improvement of systems within the Laboratory.
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the management system.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by your direct line manager.
- Take responsibility for all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Maintain the Contractors pack files.
- Conduct weekly safety/talk meetings.
- Complete all Safety documentation for the Month-End OI Reports.
- Implement SGS and UMK Safety Policies, COPs, and SOPs.
- Maintain and continuously improve all existing HSE documentation.
- Appointed as SHE Coordinator and ICAM investigator.
- Monitor and report all non-compliance with Quality reporting deadlines and schedules.
- Cease using any equipment deemed a safety hazard or entering hazardous environments without proper knowledge and protection, reporting such situations to higher authorities. Update weekly verifications.
- Stop work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report to higher authorities.
- Diagnose all suspect results and assist in rectifying issues related to equipment, personnel, or analysis.
- Initiate formal improvement requests when deviations occur, improvements are identified, or nonconformities are found, and ensure their closure.
- Complete all standard weekly, monthly, and quarterly Quality reports.
Qualifications
Education
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Certificate in overall Quality Management (advantage)
- Safety courses/practical experience in HSE control in a Laboratory
Experience
- 5 Years administrative experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- G6 / SLIM experience
- Experience with Quality and Safety management systems, especially ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (advantage)
