Job summary

Morgan Group is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to deliver technical diagnostics and field repairs in the service department. You will advise colleagues on best practices, ensuring accurate diagnostics and adherence to manufacturer time standards.

The role requires a trade certification, 3+ years in a dealership/workshop, and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must have a clean criminal record and be prepared to work on site in Welkom.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and diagnostic work timeously as instructed.
• Provide advice and support to colleagues on technical matters.
• Ensure diagnostic equipment is used correctly for vehicle examinations.
• Take steps to ensure servicing of vehicles remains within the targeted percentages of the manufacturers' time.
• Maintain vehicle care and safety standards while performing duties.
• Return vehicles to customers in a neat and clean condition.
• Ensure diagnoses lead to cost-effective and accurate remedies to faults or complaints.
• Accurately complete job cards and add information on the vehicle before handing to Service Advisor.

Job description

The main purpose of the job is to provide technical and diagnostic expertise within the service department and in doing so, advise colleagues on best practice methodologies for repairs and improvements as per customer requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure vehicles are returned to the customer after service in a neat and clean condition.

Ensure diagnosis leads to most cost-effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint.

To accurately complete job cards and additional information on the vehicle before handing the job card to Service Advisor.
