Qualifications

  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure adherence to manufacturer standards.
  • Liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Foreman on repair progress.

Overview

A leading commercial vehicle dealership in the East Rand is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their dynamic workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.

Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Tested – Red Seal)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience working on heavy commercial vehicles or trucks
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and technical repair skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a structured team environment
  • Valid driver’s license (Code 14 advantageous)
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and workshop systems
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, and mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure adherence to manufacturer standards
  • Complete job cards accurately and timeously
  • Liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Foreman on repair progress
  • Maintain high levels of quality control and workshop safety
  • Support colleagues in achieving workshop productivity and efficiency targets
