• We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to take full responsibility for managing the operational aspects of Product Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Compliance. This role ensures the consistent delivery of high standards in line with regulatory and internal requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Diploma in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or similar
• HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 certification (required)
• Poultry Meat Examiner/Inspector Certificate (preferred)

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality control or quality assurance role.
• Prior experience in the poultry industry will be a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with FSSC 22000 systems and implementation is highly beneficial.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Effective decision-making in technical and operational areas
• Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
• High level of organizational ability, with the capacity to prioritize and manage workload
• Sound report writing and analytical skills
• Willingness and ability to work in a cold environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage quality control, quality assurance, and hygiene operations
• Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal specifications
• Participate in internal and external audits, as well as customer inspections
• Investigate product complaints and returns, implementing corrective actions
• Liaise with plant management on non-conformance issues
• Drive adherence to Rainbow’s Total Integrated Management System
• Manage and develop QA staff
• Monitor and report on compliance with regulatory and company standards
• Conduct internal audits and support plant trials
• Participate in Product KPI audits both on-site and at customer locations
• Support other projects and initiatives as approved by management
