Role Overview

We’re looking for a QA & Security Engineer to ensure the quality, security, and reliability of our AI automation workflows. Our automations connect tools like Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Asana, and Zoom through platforms such as n8n to create seamless data flows and intelligent reporting systems.

You’ll be responsible for testing, monitoring, and securing these workflows end-to-end — ensuring every automation runs accurately, securely, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
  • Design and execute QA test plans for automation workflows (unit, integration, regression, and user‑acceptance testing).
  • Validate automation logic, data accuracy, and AI output quality.
  • Build automated QA flows in n8n or equivalent tools to continuously monitor workflow health.
  • Maintain version control and test documentation for all automations.
  • Identify, log, and track issues or performance bottlenecks through to resolution.
Security & Compliance
  • Review and harden automations for authentication, token handling, and data‑access security.
  • Implement encryption, role‑based access controls, and secure API management.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability and compliance audits (GDPR, SOC 2, POPIA).
  • Establish and maintain secure data storage, sanitization, and retention practices.
  • Monitor API and webhook endpoints for unauthorized access or failures.
System Maintenance & Monitoring
  • Oversee uptime, error handling, and reliability of production workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve failures, expired tokens, and data inconsistencies.
  • Manage workflow documentation, logic maps, and dependency tracking.
  • Collaborate with developers to re‑test automations after updates or API changes.
  • Track and report metrics on system reliability, data accuracy, and workflow success rates.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in QA engineering, automation testing, or DevSecOps.
  • Hands‑on experience with n8n, Make (Integromat), or other workflow automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth2, and webhook validation.
  • Proficiency with JSON data structures and API response testing.
  • Working knowledge of AI/LLM output validation and quality assessment.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, encryption, and best practices in handling sensitive data.
  • Basic scripting experience in JavaScript, Python, or similar languages for test automation.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in ethical hacking, penetration testing, or security auditing.
  • Knowledge of Docker, PostgreSQL, or cloud deployment environments.
  • Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks or AI performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with SaaS integrations (Slack, Asana, HubSpot, RingCentral, Zoom, etc.).
KPIs for Success
  • Automated workflows operate with 99%+ uptime and validated accuracy.
  • Security audits consistently pass with no critical vulnerabilities.
  • All workflows have automated regression tests and detailed QA logs.
  • AI‑driven outputs are verified for accuracy, fairness, and consistency.
  • Leadership has visibility into workflow health, performance metrics, and alerts.
