e-Merge IT Recruitment is seeking a Python Backend Developer for a Sandton-based role delivering production AI solutions. You will build APIs and integration layers that connect AI to real-world platforms, working across telephony platforms and external/internal APIs.

The environment emphasizes Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, API-first architecture and real-time telephony, with experience in AI or conversational tech being a strong plus. This is a permanent, on-site position in Sandton.

This is an opportunity to join a specialist AI division building voice and text AI agents that are already operating in production.

Now they're scaling the technology, expanding integrations and building the next generation of AI powered customer experiences.

THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL BACKEND ROLE

You’ll be building the APIs and integration layers connecting AI to the real world.

You’ll work across:

• Telephony platforms
• Internal and external APIs

Your code will sit underneath AI driven customer interactions, connecting the platforms and services that make the ecosystem work.

You’ll work closely with technical architects and experienced engineering leads in a small team where engineers have genuine ownership and actually ship.
