Introduction

An Agritalent client, a leading player in the sales and distribution of agricultural chemicals, seeks a Purchasing Manager with strong procurement expertise and a solid background in agricultural chemicals.

Responsibilities
  • Source and procure agricultural chemicals in line with company needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure cost‑effective procurement while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key suppliers.
  • Conduct market analysis and stay abreast of trends, pricing, and regulatory developments.
  • Oversee inventory levels, forecast demand, monitor expiry dates and prevent stock shortages or surpluses.
  • Ensure all purchased chemicals meet industry safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage purchase orders, delivery tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and participate in regular assessments.
  • Prepare and present detailed procurement and inventory reports to management.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Load relevant price lists and supplier documentation on agreed platforms.
  • Generate and process depot orders.
  • Assist with depot management and cooperate with depot managers as required.
  • Manage and be responsible for the Logistics Teams – Christiana & Kimberley.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • BCom in Supply Chain Management / Logistics, or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or APICS are advantageous.
  • Minimum 3+ years in a similar role within the crop protection or agricultural chemical industry.
