The Role

We're looking for a Business Development Manager based in Johannesburg to open new doors and activate new partnerships. Your focus is to build relationships with non-spending agencies and brands, get them talking, get them testing, and ultimately get them spending. This is a pure new business role, suited to someone who thrives on the chase, can navigate B2B relationships across agency networks, and knows how to turn curiosity into a commercial opportunity. You'll work closely with the Sales Enablement and Product teams, pitching new social experiences and showing prospective clients how Pulse formats outperform standard social media placements.

What You’ll Do
  • Identify and engage non-spending agencies and brands across South Africa.
  • Prospect, cold outreach, and schedule meetings with decision-makers at media, digital, and creative agencies.
  • Present the Pulse offering and demonstrate the value of uplift measurement, synthetic testing, and creative extensions.
  • Build new relationships, nurture early opportunities, and guide them toward first campaign activation.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Enablement team to tailor proposals, product walkthroughs, and case studies.
  • Feed market insights back to leadership to shape go-to-market strategy and offering evolution.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and pipeline management within the CRM.
  • Consistently hit outreach, meeting, and revenue activation targets.
Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or account growth within digital marketing or ad tech.
  • Proven ability to open new business in a B2B environment, not just service existing accounts.
  • Strong understanding of the social advertising ecosystem, including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Spotify, and X.
  • Knowledge of agency operations, pitching cycles, and campaign approval processes.
  • Confident presenter, able to simplify technical value into clear client benefit.
  • CRM discipline, excellent follow-up, and strong commercial acumen.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and comfort with a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • A genuine love for creative technology and results-driven advertising.
